Hi. I was looking for information about your choir and I have found your blog.I’m from Volgograd, where you came with a concert at our Lutheran church. My name is Alexandra. Thanks for a concert. I really liked it. You are big fellows.I do not speak German (which is why I write in English) so we were unable to communicate. But then we were able to sing with you. I myself a musician (I played the guitar on the “banquet”) and a little envy you. I do not have as many people to make such a chorus. So many people and so many votes.8 votes – it is chic. You how I remember sang soprano 1? Yes? Tell me please about you? About the choir? You are very interesting people. You are not professional singers? The man who we were playing then the guitar said that almost no one has a musical education. I understood him correctly? By the way, thanks for the second “Russian” part. It was nice.I would like you to sent my greetings when you go to the rehearsal. Is this normal? I’m not too arrogant? Well, good luck.I hope to answer.
With greetings from Volgograd in Russia, Alexandra))))))))))

Hi Alexandra,
of course I do remember you. You sang with us after our concert in Sarepta and I think the whole choir fell in love with you and your beautiful voice! I sing alto 1 and like most of the fellows in my choir, I’m not a professional musician, but love to sing or play a little bit piano. Music is a great way to communicate with other people and to bring them together without language. We experienced great friendship and hospitality from people in Volgograd and I’m looking forward for another visit to Russia.

The fellows in my choir are actually members from a much bigger choir – Collegium Musicum ( http://collegium-musicum.tu-berlin.de ). “Univocale” was planned to be a one-time project, but the group has grew together so tightly, now we’re thinking about singing together on a regular basis. I study Computer Science at the Technical University Berlin and have been singing in Collegium Musicum for about 4 years.

Do you work in the Lutheran Church? And Why is it so difficult to find people for your own choir?

I’ll meet most of the fellows from my choir this Saturday and I promise to forward them your kind greetings.
Greetings from Berlin,
Fei

There is one remarkable film – August Rush, maybe you looked it. There is one phrase – “the Lord has created music for dialogue with us”. I always thought also. I practise music almost 20 years(I have started to play piano in 3 years old) and there was no day in my life that I have ceased to like it. And I am glad that so many people like music as well as I. There is nothing in life pulling more together than music and love.

I don’t work in Church, i’m the parishioner. Though in church I conduct musical service Taize.
For us it is difficult to create chorus because only few people wish to do it without payment. Music in Russia to earn nothing. It’s a pitty but it’s the truth…

When I was the student we had a chorus at university. Very beautiful. Now I don’t have time for it, and I’m not the student now.
Fairly to tell, I like more to sing solo. Or duet. In chorus it is difficult to me to constrain itself.
By the way, now we prepare in church the small program where I sing alto too.
We don’t have altos on the contrary, so it is necessary to sing me more low than I like. You had construction unusual to Russian on voices, we have another. It confused me at first a little… )))))

Greetings from Volgograd,
Sandra.

Hello,

my term just started and I had a lot to organize. What was your major? Do you sing and play music for living? Back in Berlin again “univocale” is preparing for a christmas concert and it’s much more fun and challenge to sing in a smaller choir. Since I started my diploma-thesis this week, I decided to quit “Collegium Musicum”, but now I’m feeling a little bit sad about this, because they are preparing Duruflé’s “Requiem”.

I was going through some photos from volgograd and found this one: Hope you like it. :) And I’m writing a report about the journey to Volgograd, which is going to be put out on this blog with more Pictures.

Nice greetings,
Fei
